Albumillion is a daily music game. It collects as little as it can, and it never sells or shares what it collects. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
What the game keeps
- A random id for your browser. The page makes one up the first time you play and keeps it in your browser. It identifies your browser to the game, not you: it is not linked to your name, email or anything else.
- What you played. For each question: when the game served it (the timer is kept by the game, not your device), which answer you locked, and its percentage. Not what you typed.
- Your day's result: your score and how rare your answers were. It counts, with everyone else's, in the day's stats: the median, the rarest answer found and the like. The stats never show who anyone is.
Guesses the game did not recognise
When a guess is not recognised, the game keeps the text and the question it was typed for, with nothing that links it to you or your browser. They are checked each day, and a real answer the game was missing is added. Your own browser keeps a copy of your unrecognised guesses, so it can tell you if one of them later becomes an answer; that copy never leaves your device.
There are no accounts
You cannot sign in, and the game never asks for your name or your email address. Everybody plays as a guest. If accounts are ever added, so that your history can follow you between devices, this page will say so before they are, and the change log will announce it.
Payment details
None, ever. The game is free, there is nothing to buy, and no payment processor is involved.
What your browser keeps
The page uses your browser's own storage (not cookies) for your random id, today's progress, your practice deck, your history as a guest, and your unrecognised guesses. Clearing your browser's site data for Albumillion removes all of it.
Other sites the page talks to
The record's label shows album art loaded from the Cover Art Archive, which, like any website, sees your IP address when your browser asks it for an image. Nothing else is loaded from other sites.
Where it is kept
The game runs on Cloudflare, whose servers are in many countries, including the United States. What it keeps under your browser's random id stays for as long as the game runs.
Deleting your data
Clear your browser's site data for Albumillion. That removes your random id, and with it goes the only thing connecting you to what the game has stored: a day's play under an id nobody can trace back to a person. Your past results stay in the day's anonymous totals, which are counts rather than records of anyone. To ask about your data, write to albumillion@gmail.com.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that affects you appears in the change log.
